Deaf children are often left behind when it comes to ensuring access to quality education. Little has been done to invest in ensuring Deaf children are able to realize quality learning outcomes which can only be possible through provision of visual learning content in Sign Language. Deaf Children are best suited to learn when they are given the chance to utilize Sign language and be able to interact with the trainer in Sign language yet very little effort has been done to provide Deaf children with the right resources including skilled trainers, visual materials among others. This has affected how Deaf children learn leading to poor learning outcomes.

Deaf children like every other children learn through stories, however most stories are either in written or audio formats which are inaccessible to Deaf children.

To effectively ensure accessibility of such stories, SignsTV Uganda airs a kids’ story-time show whose content are stories for Deaf children that are told in Sign Language. With these stories, deaf children will feel included, learn and be able to succeed in school like every other child.
